Foiled the Bunnies !

many of you already know some of this saga, as I've posted bits about it on facebook now and then.

it starts here... with enemy #1:

for several years now, i have tried to grow a simple garden here at our house. primarily flowers, plus a zucchini plant or two.

year 1:  rabbits pretty much decimated the flowers;  the fencing i used had holes that the bunnies were able to get right thru

year 2:  upgraded (or thought i upgraded) to some dark green plastic snowfencing;  rabbits ate thru that fence and got to the garden but didn't do as much damage;  we actually had some good zucchinis to enjoy

side note: all the suggestions i was given to help deter the bunnies from the garden failed:
- use of marigolds -- our stubborn rabbits didn't seem to be bothered
- human hair -- our delinquent bunnies didn't mind at all
- moth balls -- our crazy little hoppers were not fazed
- shiny CD's hung to blow in breeze and frighten them away -- fat chance

year 3:  this year.... BOOYA!  Matt wins!!

yup, the bunnies have been foiled!

no use of electricity.
no use of shotguns.
no scarecrow.

got a better (metal) fence with teeny holes and buried it about 2-3 inches in the ground -- to prevent burrowing.  they are not getting in.  the place is fortified like a mini-alcatraz.

i am ecstatic.

the bunnies are pissed.

i can sense them plotting.

out for now.....

Matt
