Chloe
not exactly sure why, but i thought i'd write a little something about our cat Chloe today.
she joined our household back in 1998, while corrie and i were living at the apartments down by the zoo in decatur.
as i recall, one night as we were sleeping (or trying to sleep) a weak, yet incessant, little meow was heard every few minutes from near the rear of our apartment. the next morning, corrie investigated a little and found a very small kitten underneath the foundation of our building. after a little bit of coaxing, she was able to get the kitten to come out for some food and attention.
long story short, the kitten (now known as Chloe) was very sick. malnourishment and worms were just 2 of her issues. we decided to get her to the vet where we were taking our other 2 cats (Thomas and Bootsie) at the time. Chloe spent over a week healing up before being able to join us permanently.
since that time, she has been a great part of the family. just a real joy of a loving cat. not a huge lap cat, but one who relishes attention when it's done on her terms.
we've had some health scares with her thru the years, but every time she's hung on and seemed to come back stronger.
one of her biggest "talents" and favorite things to do is chase paperwads around the house.
with the recent addition of our kitten to the house, Chloe puts up with her but not overly well. there have been many spats, fits, and "paw punches" between those 2.
now 15, she has slowed down quite a bit, but continues to be a great gal.
she enjoys life and we enjoy her.
out for now.....
