1000 Days of Gas
in the news this morning.....
AAA has come up with a sobering statistic: the average price of gasoline will surpass $3 per gallon Tuesday (today) for the 1,000th consecutive day. That's never happened before, the motoring organization says.
yeesh oh Pete! I knew it had been like forever since I'd seen $2.xx gas, but 1000 days !! WOW
What was I doing 1000 days ago?
December 23, 2010.
a Thursday.
Probably off work.
Probably getting ready for Christmas, likely listening to Christmas music.
In the news that day --
- Fred Foy, announcer for The Lone Ranger, died
- major Skype outage around the world
- "Don't Ask Don't Tell" repeal signed by Obama
and this....
title: "Gasoline Prices in U.S. Likely to Hit Season High"
1,000 days later.... still there.
Today's news story continues....
"Paying less than $3.00 per gallon for gasoline may be automotive history for most Americans, like using 8-track tapes or going to a drive-in movie," said Bob Darbelnet, CEO of AAA. "The reality is that expensive gas is here to stay."
Wonderful.
another 1000 days.
Out for now....
