Oh Yeah - Awesome
On the way home from work yesterday evening, I heard a great song.....
"There's thunder in His footsteps
And lightning in His fists"
And lightning in His fists"
"Mercy and grace He gave us at the cross"
"He reigns from heaven above
With wisdom, power, and love"
With wisdom, power, and love"
"It wasn't for no reason
That He shed His blood"
That He shed His blood"
Recognize those lyrics?
"Awesome God".
One of the best from one of the best - Rich Mullins.
Such a simple song that has endured time since its release in 1988. It continues to be part of radio playlists and is regularly sung at churches across the globe.
Such a simple song that is a powerful reminder of how awesome our God really is.
Everytime I hear it, I am awed.
The simplicity of Rich's song has a very important purpose......
Each day, we need to remind ourselves to take a quick step back from our busy lives and breath in the majesty that surrounds us.
God created us in his image.
God sent His son to this lowly earth as a lowly, helpless baby to demonstrate His love for us.
God allowed His son, who knew no sin, to die a sinner's death on the cross of Calvary's hill.
God has his arms outstretched towards us at the end of each and every day. No matter what we've seen. No matter what we've done. No matter what we've been thru. God is there.... ready to comfort, encourage and provide.
That's pretty awesome!
Out for now......
