Lottery Ticket

oh how one small piece of paper could radically change someone's life.....

tonight is the night.

you buy your ticket?

Mega Millions mania as jackpot nears all-time lottery record

that's one of the headlines I just saw online.

$586 million bucks and growing - wowzas!

not very good odds though.  in fact, quite crappy odds:  1 in 258,890,850.

This was in one of the articles I saw:
Despite a jump in ticket sales in the run-up to the drawing later in the day, there’s still about a 30% chance no one wins the big prize, a California Lottery spokesman said.

despite those ridiculously crazy bad odds, man oh man... isn't it fun to dream??

think about all the things (material things) you could have.  houses, cars, boats, vacations, your own personal island.

think about all the ways you could help others, your community, your church, etc.

Some amazingly good "good" could be done, if the winner's heart and priorities were in the right place.

This Forbes article by financial advisor Robert Pagliarini is a real thought-provoker.

Yeah, you're reading that title correctly.

Lottery = Good Investment

What?
Here's an excerpt of what he writes:

As soon as you plunk down your $1, you can’t help but start to think about what your life would look like if you won. What would you do? Where would you go? What would you buy? Your dollar can buy you a bit of hope. It can make your commute (and your boss!) a little more bearable for the day. The daydreaming stage is where most people stop, however. Once the numbers are drawn and they inevitably lose, they go back to business as usual. There’s a better approach…

Waiting to win the lottery to improve your life is passive (and the odds are terrible). Don’t sit back and wait for the right numbers to hit to create the life you want. When asked by Katie Couric what advice I had for first time lottery players, I answered, “Have fun, day dream what it would be like if you won, and then do everything you can to create that life even if you don’t win.” Now it’s your turn…

Great advice.  You don't need millions of dollars to improve your situation or to make a difference in this world.  Little things count.  Little things matter!

1 in 258,890,850 odds.
think about how your life would change.

and, think about how much more complicated things would be.
1 in 1 odds of that.

Out for now.....
