Number 200
I've made it to 200!
"200 what?" you ask.
200 blog posts here on MattChat !!
That's right, this entry that you are reading right now is #200.
As I think back, I really can't remember any specific reason why I wanted to start a blog.
I guess I knew I had plenty of stuff to say that was either too lengthy or too inappropriate to say on Facebook.
(My wife would tell you that I've got PLENTY of blah, blah, blah for a blog, blog, blog.)
Going all the way back to high school, I have always enjoyed putting pen to paper and expressing my thoughts. of course, it's much more fun when I can write as a hobby, rather than writing a paper for Mrs. Walborn. HA
I've never been a great public speaker, so writing thoughts down has always kinda been my outlet and/or release.
And, in my 200 blog entries, you (the reader) sure have gotten to experience plenty of my "release".
I have vented.
I have fumed.
I have provided plenty of criticism over many a thing.
(examples: state of our government, litterers, library porn)
But, more often, I have tried to share something positive.
A family event.
A memory.
A noteworthy news item.
A selection of photos.
(examples: bios of famous Honnolds, importance of serving, memories of my EIU professors)
Whatever I've written, I hope that you've found it a somewhat interesting, informative, enlightening, or humorous take on life.
To me, that's what a blog is about.
Writing about relevancy.
Writing about what life means to me. Writing about stuff that interests me or is important to me.
Writing about stuff that might come up if you and I were having a face-to-face chat over lunch.
I think if you look up the word "BLOG" in the dictionary, you are gonna read something similar to this:
"a Web site that contains an online personal journal with reflections, comments, and often hyperlinks provided by the writer"
I really like that word "journal". My blog is my journal. Except instead of being in a three-ring binder or in a spiral notebook, it's here on the web.
An electronic journal.
That I'm happy to share with you!
Out for now.....
Matt
