Picture 2/11: Germy Coke

Today, I went to lunch with some guys from work.  They go out pretty much every day -- I try to join them once per week.

We went to Burger King where they recently installed one of those Coke Freestyle pop machines. (https://www.coca-colafreestyle.com/)

This thing offers over 120 choices of drinks - about 20 base flavors (Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, etc.), each one with a variety of flavoring that can be added (cherry, grape, lime, peach, etc.).

Unfortunately, I have found the flaw with the Freestyle machine:

Do you see it?

Right there under the screen.

The silver button that says "PUSH".

In order to dispense soda into your cup, that button must be pushed.

Pushed by everyone.

Kids with snotty fingers.

Folks who didn't wash hands after using the bathroom.

Cat lovers who just cleaned the litter box.

People who just handled money when they ordered.

See what I'm saying?
BLEEECH!

And everyone is gonna eat their burger and fries with their hands after touching this button.
BLEEECH!

A really, really cool idea that is gonna spread disease.

Now, if they'd only put a hand sanitizer station right next to it.

Out for now....
