Worst Customer Service
ACSI (whoever they are???) recently released their annual survey of customer satisfaction rankings for the retailing industry.
The full report is available on their website at: http://www.theacsi.org/
For 2013, in summary:
The 10 worst customer satisfaction rankings --
10- Winn Dixie (grocery/pharmacy)
9- Supervalu (grocery)
8- Gap (clothing)
7- Best Buy (electronics)
6- Safeway (grocery)
5- Macy's (clothing)
4- Walgreens (health/pharmacy)
3- CVS (health/pharmacy)
2- Rite Aid (health/pharmacy)
1- Wal-Mart
Wal-Mart, the king of retailers, sucks at customer service. No shocker there! They were in last place in 2012 too.
Who was ranked #1 in the various categories?
Department/Discount: Nordstrom
Specialty Retail: Costco
Supermarkets: Publix
Internet Retail: Amazon
Internet Brokerage: Charles Schwab
Health and Personal Care: "all others" (basically anyone except the big 3, who were all in the bottom 10 overall)
Interesting facts:
- Target had one of the biggest drops in customer satisfaction, likely caused by the data breach
- Dollar General was #4 in the Department and Discount Stores category (beating Target.... ouch, that has to hurt!)
- the biggest gains in customer satisfaction were posted by Netflix and OfficeMax
Good stuff!
I could keep on going, but I'll stop.
No need to thank me.
Out for now.....
