Just a couple weeks back, a group called Ethisphere released their 2014 list of "The World's Most Ethical Companies".
This list is something they've been doing since 2007 to recognize:
companies that go beyond making statements about doing business ethically and translate those words into action. These companies not only promote ethical business standards and practices internally, but also embed the theory of “conscious capitalism” into everything they do, every employee they hire and every partner they bring into their network to ensure they deliver long-term value to key stakeholders including customers, suppliers, regulators and investors.
The honorees this year represent 41 industries and include 21 first-time honorees. In addition, this year's class has the largest group of non-U.S. representation ever -- 38 organizations from 21 countries and 5 continents.

A few things that I found interesting:
- it's good to see Ford on the list
- and good to see Deere & Company (John Deere) on the list
- there are no winners in the "Restaurants and Cafes" category this year; Starbucks was the only one in 2013.... wonder what they did (or didn't do) to fall off the list?
- Target was on the list in 2012 and 2013, but not this year; hmmmmmm.... can anyone say "data breach"
- the only one on the list in the "Agriculture" category is (appropriately named) Ethical Fruit Company -- Deere is in another category
- winners in "Consumer Products" includes 2 of the biggest toy companies: Hasbro and Mattel
- Microsoft made the list..... oh, whoopie! <<sarcasm>>
