We were up in Morris Illinois today for a family get-together.
I could not decide which of 3 shots to choose as my Picture of the Day. So, you get all 3.
Yes, that is a guy dressed as Abe Lincoln. And yes, he is shopping at the flea market. He bought plastic ice cube trays which he told me he was going to use for iced coffee.
The Illinois River is in flood right now. This buoy washed ashore at the state park in Morris. If you look real close at that white sticker, you'll see it's an authentic Coast Guard one.
This was taken on the way home.... right on Route 66 south of Dwight Illinois. It's amazing to think that Amtrak travels this fast. And it's amazing to think that in the early days, top speed on Route 66 was half of 80. Quite the contrast between 1930's and 2014.
