Modern American Man

Great little article here with some really neat data and charts.

The Modern American Man

NPR starts things off by stating:
It's important to note that in all instances we are depicting the generalized American man, flattened across racial and socio-economic groups. Looking at the statistics through any of those or other lenses can admittedly provide a different picture.

OK, I get it.

You're telling us about the GENERIC Modern American Man.

All men..... rolled up into 1 big testosterone ball.

1 big ol' soupy pool of Gillette.

Anyway, some of the findings.....

The ladies do better in school, most noticeably in English.

Men get fewer B.S. degrees than women.  (this has been occurring since the mid-80's)

For adults 25-34, more men are still living at home with parents.

Men get married later than women.

Men make more $$ (although women are catching up).

Men don't live as long as women (although we are narrowing the gap).

NPR's got a whole lot of other info and articles about The Modern Man:

The one about "stuff that makes you feel manly" is awesome.  (http://www.npr.org/2014/07/04/328121261/from-axes-to-razors-the-stuff-that-makes-you-feel-manly)

For now, I'm gonna keep dreaming about the Man Cave I'll have someday.  And reapply my Gilette.

Out for now......
