I started off this 4th of July morning getting a little bit dirty and sweaty.

Nearly every morning as I head into work, I pass by the "Welcome to Decatur" sign on Route 48, just south of Mound Road.

And every time that I drive by it, it frustrates me how ugly it looks.

Weeds.

Weeds.

Weeds.

Here we (as a community) are, welcoming visitors into Decatur, with an ignored and quite ugly patch of roses.

Well, enough is enough --

Folks, wherever you live, do something to make a difference.  Take pride in your community.
