Pink Slime Returns
You hear about this?
The maker of the beef product dubbed "pink slime" by critics is reopening a plant that it shut in the face of bad publicity two years ago.
In fact, as you can read in the article here http://money.cnn.com/2014/08/13/news/companies/pink-slime/index.html, they are still involved in a legal case against ABC News, seeking a judgment for defamation.
Get the facts folks before overreacting to situations like this.... or GMO foods.... or high-fructose corn syrup.....
The truth about the so-called pink slime, a type of perfectly safe, albeit gross-looking, beef:
Lean finely textured beef is a good description of exactly what it is. It’s beef. When people come up with these other terms, like ‘pink slime,’ it is not accurate. Some stories have said this meat is unfit for human consumption, but that is not accurate, either. It is meat that has come from USDA-inspected operations. It is not sludge. It is meat that without being processed would go to waste. Yes, lean finely textured beef is produced at a lower cost. But the bottom line is that it is beef.
Now, fire up that grill and enjoy life instead of being so up-tight and paranoid.
Out for now.....
