So, the Illinois State Fair released details today of how all the concerts faired, in terms of did they make money or did they lose (taxpayer) money?
Big winner: Florida-Georgia Line, profit of $337,000
All that profit was eaten-up though by the big losers:
Hunter Hayes: lost $73,000
Pitbull: lost $101,000
Robin Thicke: lost $120,000+
American Idols: lost $140,000+
What a mess!
The 2 classic rock groups (Boston, Steely Dan) both made money.
So did the other country artist, Jake Owen.
All the statistics, including attendance figures, here:
Seems to me there's a very simple solution.
Book more country.
Book more classic.
Skip the cheap, pop and rap one-hit wonder, wannabee talent of today.
Out for now......
