Forbes has come out with this year's ranking of top 500 U.S. colleges and universities.
2 Illinois schools made the top 25.
And, a total of 15 Illinois schools made the list of 500. Here they are:

Wheaton College (#75)

Lake Forest College (#236)
Illinois Institute of Technology (#247)

Illinois Wesleyan University (#253)

Loyola University Chicago (#312)
DePaul University (#320)
University of Illinois, Chicago (#361)

Illinois State University (#478)
No EIU, SIU, NIU, or WIU.
Maybe too small?
Maybe not prestigious enough?
Maybe Forbes just doesn't like universities with a compass direction in the title? Of course, that doesn't explain Northwestern.... but they have the "prestige factor" going for them.
