Picture 10/2: My Stem is Corroded

October 2
(picture 275 of 365)

I went to Firestone today for a free tire rotation.

And I learned my stem is corroded:

2 of them actually.

Supposedly this is a common problem on many types of vehicles.

The stem corrodes, then the whole tire pressure sensor must be replaced.

$100 each, installed.

Ugggh!

I had them replace with normal rubber stems -- no sensors -- which means the low tire pressure light is now on all the time.

Cheap ol' me..... I'm looking for someone who can put them in for $75 each.

We'll see.....

Out for now......
