Have you ever wondered what location is the cheapest place to live here in the Land of Lincoln?
Well, you can now get that question answered. (not sure how scientific this is, however)
The 10 Most Affordable Cities in Illinois:
10- Moline
9- Pekin
8- Pontiac
7- Kewanee
6- Quincy
5- East Peoria
4- Springfield
3- Morton
2- Washington
and at the top of the list.......
1- Chatham
We like Chatham (south "burb" of Springfield). They have a nice Goodwill, and there are some great antique places around there.

Not surprising.
And, I love it!
It's what makes living outside of Cook County and its "collar" so GRAND!
