Picture 1/16: First Blu-Ray
January 16

I bought our family's first blu-ray today:
Best Buy e-mailed me a code for $5 off a $5 purchase, so I found something cheap to spend it on.
"Dances with Wolves" was $9.99, on sale for $5.99. With my coupon, I got it for a buck.
1 issue.... our family does not own a blu-ray player.
We will some day. Just haven't gone that direction yet.
But when we do, I have the first movie in our collection.
This whole scenario reminds me of many, many, many years ago when Dad and Mom were on the verge of deciding to purchase our family's first VCR.
And boy was I excited!
In fact, I purchased the family's first VHS tape a few weeks before we actually had a VCR.
And to this day, I remember what it was:
I was a huge Billy Joel fan. Huge.
Pretty sure I purchased the tape up at K's Merchandise in Champaign.
I believe the justification was, "hey, we don't get to Champaign often -- I'd better buy it while I have the opportunity".
I can't even venture a guess how many times I watched that tape of Billy's videos.
"The Downeaster Alexa"
"I Go To Extremes"
"Leningrad"
"We Didn't Start the Fire"
Great music then.
Great music still today.
Out for now.....
