Ranking the 2016 Candidates
Now this is an extremely interesting one.
A new political startup has studied the potential 2016 presidential field—and those who donate to them.
Researchers at Stanford University started Crowdpac, a website that not only analyzes a candidate’s voting record and statements but their history of political donations as well.
The founders of Crowdpac say that combining these factors provides a more accurate picture of a candidate’s true political philosophy, especially when some potential candidates never have held office and thus have no voting record to judge.
Some of what they determined:
-- On the Republican side, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., is the most conservative candidate
-- The most moderate Republican is New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie followed by former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush
-- The most moderate Democrat is Vice President Joe Biden
-- Former Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa., often regarded as a conservative, earned a less conservative score than former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who is often regarded as a moderate
-- The most liberal candidate is Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt. After Sanders is Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Hillary Clinton
Take a look at the amazing Crowdpac info-graphic which compares over 20 potential 2016 candidates:
It's very interesting to see how Mike Huckabee, Ben Carter, Marco Rubio, and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker all stack-up.
There are so many Republican candidates who all bring good things to the table, but none of them are the answer.
Just like in 2012, it would be so helpful to throw them all in a blender and mix-up a candidate who could actually make a strong, solid run at the White House.
Out for now.....
