OK Illinoisans.
This is likely gonna ruffle your feathers a little.
This might cause a little boiling of the blood.
Or a little steam to escape from your ears.
Despite the abysmally poor job that our Illinois legislators are doing and the incredibly crazy stupid mess of finances that our state is in, our representatives and senators (note: capitalization will be granted when respect has been earned) pull in the 5th highest legislator salary in the U.S.

To my knowledge, the financial state of New Mex is in much better shape than Illinois.
Paying $0 and getting the job done.
Why?
Because you have more non-connected, non-career politicians in those roles. Folks who want the job because they love their state. They want to serve because they want their state to win, to thrive.

We wanna see a return on the $$$ being invested in you.
