Over the weekend, I picked this up for a quarter.
Not because it's worth anything.
And not because I collect plates.
But because I found it an odd curiosity item.
Why?
3 reasons......
1-
Chanute Air Force Base is on here, meaning this plate dates back to at least 1993.
2-
It has Paris, Charleston, and Mattoon on here.... all cities in my old stomping grounds.
3-
DECATUR IS MISSING!! What the thunder?
How can the makers of this plate not include Decatur? HUH?
What is Illinois without Decatur?!!?!!??
You see what they did, don't you?
They made Springfield so so huge that Decatur got crowded out.
Jerks.
