Talking Toilet Paper

Let's talk about toilet paper.

TPChat on MattChat.  WOO HOO

First:
If it feels as if you're running through toilet paper rolls faster than ever before, that's because you are. But it might not be your fault. Slowly but surely, toilet paper rolls have been shrinking. Toilet paper squares, the individual sheets that connect to make each roll, were once 4.5 inches wide and 4.5 inches long. That standard, however, has shifted, or at the very least loosened its grip on the industry, to a point where companies are selling sheets that are a half-inch shorter or thinner, or both.
Frightening, eh?

Second:
Americans have a new favorite way to flush money down the drain: luxury toilet paper. Sales in the United States of what the industry calls "luxury" rolls — anything quilted, lotioned, perfumed or ultra-soft, from two- to four-ply — climbed to $1.4 billion last year, outpacing all other kinds of toilet paper for the first time in nearly a decade, data from market research firm Euromonitor International show.
WOW, $1.4 billion!
That is a lot of 4" sheets.

For me, I am very content with plain ol' Angel Soft.  No lotions.  No perfumes.
I'm looking for performance, not frills.
Out for now.....
