Multitudes of problems, issues, struggles that must be prioritized and dealt with in some form or fashion. Quickly.
Let's take a moment to examine......
Just for purposes of this post, we'll put all the "world stuff" aside..... leaving out all the complicated/dicey international problems/challenges that are on the plate.
And, just for purposes of this post, we'll exclude these 5 very polarizing topics:
- abortion
- health care
- freedom of religion
- definition (redefinition) of marriage
- gun ownership/rights
That said, look at this list..... what a mess of woes that MUST be addressed, by our President, by our Congress......
- breakdown of the family (single parent, no father figure)
- poverty
- minimum wage increase: what is right? what is crippling?
- entitlements: way way too many folks "employed" by the government
- underemployed
- unemployable
- weaknesses in education system
- racism and white supremacy: KKK, bad seed in uniform, etc.
- inequality
- hate crimes
- domestic terrorism
- courts: frivolous lawsuits
- courts: judicial activism
- courts: sentencing smarts
- prison system reform
- illegal immigration
- sanctuary cities
- bureaucracy and red tape
- lax controls (2 recent examples: shipping anthrax, systems hacked)
- government waste
- budgets out of whack
- crippling debt
- unfunded pensions
- Social Security drained
- U.S. states in financial crisis, such as Illinois (only as strong as our weakest link)
- burdensome tax code
- overreaching regulation: environmental, health issues, new businesses
- oppressive, selfish unions
- low military morale
- Veterans care system in shambles
- degrading infrastructure (roads, bridges, airports, river locks)
- cost of natural disasters skyrocketing
- trade deficit: balance of imports / exports out-of-whack
- corruption (besides the U.S. government's own): Wall Street, financial institutions, state and local governments
Again, WHAT A MESS! Sadly, we are falling apart.
What kind of America will our kids have?
