July 4 Cookout Cost
How much is that 4th of July cookout gonna cost ya?
According to the American Farm Bureau Federation......
A Fourth of July cookout of Americans’ favorite foods including hot dogs, cheeseburgers, pork spare ribs, potato salad, baked beans, lemonade and chocolate milk will cost slightly less this year and still comes in at less than $6 per person.
Farm Bureau’s informal survey reveals the average cost for a summer cookout for 10 is $55.84, or $5.58 per person. That’s about a 3-percent decrease compared to a year ago.
Here's whatcha can serve for $55.84:
The only thing I disagree with is the "watermelon for dessert" line.
Watermelon is not dessert.
Apple pie is dessert.
Here's all the details on how they completed their study, including a 3-year price history.
In case you were wondering, they have a pound of watermelon priced at $1.0525.
That seems rather high.
I'd rather have pie.
Out for now......
