When did I really start to become a fan of the STL Cardinals?

Mid 1980's.

I don't remember much at all about the 1982 World Series.  But, I do remember rooting for them in 1984 when I was a wee 9-year-old.

And I remember this guy being one of my first "favorite Cardinals":

Joaquin played for the Cardinals from 1981 to 1985.

He died today.

His death means 3 of my favorite "old school" Cardinals have passed on..... Joaquin, Darrell Porter, Dan Quisenberry.

Another loss for the historic Cardinal Nation.

And time marches on.......
