Picture 10/9: Calling WCFD
October 9

Here in Decatur, there are children who go to bed hungry at night.
There are kiddos who absolutely cannot wait for their lunch at school, as that'll be the only decent food they'll eat all day.
There are little ones who do not know the experience of having choice/selection when it comes to opening the refrigerator door or kitchen cabinets.
How sad.
How gut-wrenching.
In a country of excess, HOW can we be "OK" with kids having grumbly tummies, folks?
I spent today (5:45am to 6:30pm) in a wonderful way.......
Helping at church with the 14th Annual WSOY Community Food Drive (WCFD):
First Christian Church has operated/manned the food drive's phone bank for several years.
This was my 3rd (or 4th??) year serving on the phone bank.
We received well over 250 calls during the 12 hours, helping the drive to blow past 1.2 MILLION pounds of food.
It is such an awesome deal to see the Decatur community pull-together on this effort.
Thank you to all who played any part in making the food drive a stunning, stunning success.
Out for now.......
Matt
