While down at Dad and Mom's for Thanksgiving, I was able to help Dad with the ceremonial "removal of the A/C unit for winter" festivities.
This time will be the last for the unit:
It's being retired and will be replaced by a shiny new unit come Spring.
The thing has served me/them/us well, having been purchased way back in the early 90's when Dad and Mom remodeled the attic to be my bedroom.
That makes like 25 years of service from old faithful.
With today's lessened focus on dependability and increased focus on "consumer value", something tells me the new unit won't last 25 years.
Out for now.......
