I am beyond excited to have won the auction for this out on eBay:
It's an original press photo from August 1920 featuring my very favorite Mississippi River bridge..... the Chain of Rocks down on the north edge of St. Louis.
The history of this bridge is absolutely fascinating.....
- over a mile long
- bends in the middle
- carried Route 66
- shoot location for a major motion picture (Escape from New York)
- scene of double-murder (sisters)
- almost demolished
- now the world's longest pedestrian/bicycle bridge
It's quite a structure folks. Definitely worth a stop.
