Week Full of News

Good heavens was this a crazy week...... all sorts of news...... some good, some disappointing, some downright puzzling.

Here's a brief roundup of what I would call highlights (or lowlights):


- BAH HUMBUG!  THE STATE IS BROKE!!  no Christmas lights on the dome of the Illinois State Capitol this year

- Obama rejects Keystone Pipeline

- Facebook tops General Electric in market value

- Looking like a bomb brought down Russian passenger airplane

- Kraft Heinz closing 7 factories and cutting 2,600 jobs

- Trump accuses Yellen of keeping rates low at Obama's request

- Supreme Court agrees to take up another challenge related to contraceptives and the Affordable Care Act

- Weird saga of Lt. Joe Gliniewicz gets weirder.... much weirder

- U.S. orders girls' locker room access for transgender Illinois student

- voters in Houston overturn the city's equal rights ordinance in order to keep man parts out of the restrooms of true women

- Ohio voters fail to pass ballot measure for legalized marijuana

- Mexican Supreme Court opens the door to legalizing marijuana

- El Faro shipwreck is found

- Royals are baseball's world champs

- Woodfield Mall in Chicago area lets parents pay $10 to reserve a spot in Santa's line

- no legal charges against Patrick Kane

- Trump coming to the heart of the Land of Lincoln next week

- college football officiating crew suspended after apparently missing a key call.... or two.... or three

- Panera is moving to cage-free eggs

- Leaders of China and Taiwan will meet for first time since 1949

- Chipotle fights E. coli infestation

- Positive Train Control (PTC) requirements get delayed by Congress

- Yellowstone-area grizzlies deemed to no longer need protection

- Americans are becoming less religious, especially young adults

- Volkswagen cheated on Audi and Porsche diesel SUVs too

As I said, lots of news.  A good chunk of it so very disappointing.
