Remember the days before UPC scanners at department stores?
Each item was marked with a small adhesive price tag.
Example:
The cash register person would look at the tag, key in the price, take your money, and send you on your way.
Well those days are over.
UPC codes rule the day......
.....at most stores.......
...... but not Big Lots.
I was there tonight.
Yes, they have a scanner at the checkout.
But it does not scan these:
It scans these:
Old school price tag. In 2016.
So if your item does not have a tag, that is a problem.
Trust me. I experienced it. The lady in front of me was buying a loofah.
A loofah with no price tag.
And the cashier was pretty much dumbfounded on what to do.
Why do they waste time, money and energy on price tagging everything?
Seriously?
