The Atlanta Braves have a new manager.
And he's from Decatur IL!
Even cooler....... he was a member of the 1971 Macon (IL) High School baseball team that had a miraculous season, finishing #2 in the state.
There is a book about that team which was a great read -- "One Shot at Forever".

I feel like the news out of Atlanta is somewhat of a Paul Harvey "The Rest of the Story" story.
It's so cool to see Coach Snitker reach this pinnacle almost 45 years to the day from that Illinois high school championship game.
Wow.
