Paid a visit to the only remaining K-Mart in Macon County:
I should clarify "remaining"....... that is, only for a short time longer.
For several years, the place has been depressing (as discussed in previous MattChat posts).
Tonight, it was just plain sad.
Another out-of-touch retailer bites the dust.
Another building sitting empty and unused.
This is the 4th K-Mart closure that I've been thru with the previous 3 being Paris, Mattoon and Decatur South (Mt. Zion).
Paris was the store that had the most "sentimental value" to me, as that one was the store we'd be at multiple times a month growing up.
I think Mom bought my Garanimals and tube socks there. :)
