Just over 2 years ago, I posted a MattChat entry entitled "OUR WORLD BURNS".

24 months later, it would be such a good deal to say that the list has shrunk, but sadly, it has not.
In fact, there are several other things that can be added:
- ISIS / radicalized Islam
- North Korea provocation
- racism
- government corruption/scandals/cover-ups
- in the U.S., a continuing disregard for and revolt against 2 key pieces of our civil/moral foundation: the Bible, the Constitution
- those last 2 leading to a continuing disrespect for authority here in the U.S. (more on that: http://matthonnold.blogspot.com/2015/07/american-woes.html)

Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ’s love for us? There is no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture:
They kill us in cold blood because they hate you.
We’re sitting ducks; they pick us off one by one.
None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us. I’m absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.
AMEN.
