Seen at the State Fair

My lovely wife and I had a wonderful time yesterday spending about 4 hours on the grounds at the Illinois State Fair (ISF).

Some highlights...... including pictures snapped:

- rode the Sky Glider

- rode a complete loop (plus more) of the tractor/wagon tram

- ate 4 of my favorite ISF foods: pork chop (Illinois Pork Producers), Potato Tornado, honey ice cream, apple cider slush

- watched wifey enjoy test-driving an expensive pair of shoe inserts

- picked-up a cool yard sign in the Republican tent:

And the lady in that same tent was very excited to hand me one of these:

Didn't wear it.

Some more photos I took:

(makeshift sign to mark danger in the road;  real professional, Illinois)

(Abe Lincoln impersonator's golf cart; note the hat)

(Christmas tree graveyard, after being judged......)

(......they also judge cabbages.......)

(......and corn)

(diver at very top about to jump)

(who better to sponsor a bench?)

(guy peddling sugar gliders..... $589 including the fancy cage and a 12-year guarantee..... yes, 12 YEARS)

see previous MattChat post for more on Sugar Gliders:

(ribbons for leaves.....)

(......and adult sleepwear......)

(......AND KEYCHAINS!!)

Wow, who knew that a person could enter a collection of keychains?   <<insert light bulb here>>

Out for now........

Matt
