Strained Storage

If you've been in Central Illinois for any length of time, you've no doubt seen one of these pop-up on the otherwise flat landscape:


Well..... expect to see a lot more of them this harvest.

"Record corn and soybean production, along with a larger than expected wheat crop, should stretch the nation’s storage capacity to the breaking point this fall. The percentage of the national grain bin filled could be as tight as it’s ever been over the past three decades, according to Farm Futures analysis."


Not enough bin storage = gotta throw it out on the ground.

Not an ideal solution, but if managed correctly, loss is minimal.
