There's a cool piece of Coles County history sitting on the outskirts of the small village of Ashmore.

Over this past weekend, the current owners opened the building up to visitors in celebration of its 100th anniversary.

Thru the years, the building has definitely had its share of ups and downs:
Formerly an almshouse (poor farm) and a psychiatric hospital, it's been vacant for years.
But the newest owners really seem to have a genuine interest in the history of the building, including its reputation as a home for the supernatural.
