Picture 9/29: 1973 Rock

September 29
(picture 273 of 365)

A little-known, little-seen memorial here in Oreana:

It sits on the grounds of the public library, between the parking lot and Route 48.

Dedicated in 1973.

I'm sure it was moved from another location, since the library was just built in 2003.

Wonder if there's any significance to the rock?

Or did they just choose a pretty-looking one and attach the plaque to it?

I'm going to go out on a limb (hope) and say that the rock holds some type of historical significance.

Like....... Buffalo Bill tied his horse to it back in 1887.

Out for now........

Matt
