He is headed for some type of impact on the East Coast.

A glancing blow?

A direct hit?

Yet to be determined.

Either way, Matthew's a powerful and dangerous hurricane.

p.s. INTERESTING FACTOID: "Matthew" replaced "Mitch" on the official list of hurricane names after the immense devastation left by Hurricane Mitch in 1998;  there was a Tropical Storm Matthew in both 2004 and 2010
