Picture 2/2: Rail Wheels

February 2
(year 4, picture 33)

Look what I rolled-up next to coming home from work today:

Since these were headed out of Decatur, my suspicion is that the Sol-Tick scrapyard at the foot of the Staley Viaduct had processed some railcars.

Maybe the wheels can be reused?

Or maybe they go somewhere special to be recycled -- or melted down?

Either way, it would be a fun exercise to look through a log of everywhere these wheels have travelled and everything they've carried.

For now, all I know is that tonight's the last time they'll be in Decatur for awhile.

Out for now.......

Matt
