Picture 4/27: Day in STL
April 27
(year 4, picture 117)
Had an absolutely wonderful day with Dad and Mom down in St. Louis.
One of the highlights: walking from Illinois to downtown STL across the beautiful and majestic Eads Bridge.
1 pic I took from the Eads:
That upper-level sidewalk in the shot above is what we walked from the Missouri-side base of the Eads over to the Arch.
As you can see, there are 100's of brand-new trees all over the Arch grounds. I look forward to taking this same pic in 10 years. Those trees are gonna be stunning.
Other highlights of the day:
- it was a little on the chilly side, but the rain stayed away...... allowing us to do the outdoor stuff we had planned
- sun even made an appearance mid-afternoon
- visiting the Mississippi River Overlook (at the Gateway Geyser grounds)
- visiting the "Salute to Steel" sculpture up in Venice
- walking all around downtown STL
- seeing a great Cardinals win which ended in the 11th on a grand slam (NOTE: we left after the 10th inning)
- supper with longtime friends Ron and Nancy
Definitely a day for the memory book.
Out for now........
