Picture 5/18: Sign of Firestone

May 18
(year 4, picture 138)

Last night, we went out for supper to celebrate our anniversary.

Decided to try a new place...... new to us at least.  We've been in Decatur 20 years and never before had a meal at Lock, Stock and Barrel.

We walked away very satisfied.

Coolest thing about the place (other than my delish roast beef horseshoe) was this old Firestone neon sign:

Who knows what the history on this thing might be?

Likely a relic of Decatur's heyday as a major Firestone production town.

It's so neat to see history preserved, especially when outside the walls of a formal museum.

Out for now........
