Picture 6/15: Waste of Resources

Phone books.
Pretty-much useless phone books.
Even with the recycled content...... such a waste of resources.
I've written about this before:
So guess what....... today, we receive a phone book in the mail:
Something new this year....... wrapped in plastic.
More waste for the landfill. Yeesh.
Resources used on an item that few ask for and most don't even want or use.
What a meaningless process.
Am I missing something here?
Are phone books mandated by the government? If they are, that pretty much explains the "waste" and "meaningless" parts.
