DECATUR CELEBRATION!
While walking downtown in the early hours, I spotted this shot.
Thought it captured the "feel" of the moment (this weekend) quite well:
Admiral Stephen Decatur, for whom our great city is named.
With the Miller Spectacular Shows carnival over his shoulder.
The past with the present.
For 32 years, Decatur Celebration has united young and old, brought fun and festivity, and added a little bit of new history to Decatur history.
It is a tradition.
It is a masterpiece.
It is a major something for which Decatur is very proud.
Just as we are proud of carrying Stephen's name.
