I had no idea that Google allowed for the rating of Interstate rest areas. Did you?
Here's our local one, just a few miles from our house:
4.1 out of 5.
Not bad, but that's like an 82% score.
Speaking of Illinois rest areas, the state is trying to figure out what to do with some of them.
Close 'em?
Or sink a ton of $$$ into renovating them.
In a state wallowing in red ink, officials are looking at where money can be saved. Apparently, rest stops, those highway havens scattered along the state's interstate system, are considered fair game when it comes to budget crunching.

Based on this November 11 update, it looks like they're gonna renovate the ones around Champaign:
For us, we only use rest areas when absolutely necessary.
Like "my bladder is going to pop" necessary.
