Vaca ABCs

We recently returned home from our most-excellent family vacation down in Florida.  It was so nice to spend time together and such relaxation to be down south for a week.

Here's a 26-line summary of our vaca...... in ABC format:

A: Alabama

B: beach fun (building a castle & moat, burying daughter in the sand, wading in the water)

C: campus drive around SIU-C on way home

D: Destin Florida!

E: excellent travel (safety, no issues with van)

F: free hotel breakfasts (being a surprise each morning to see what's being served)

G: goodie bags of snacks and munchies made by wife for each of the girls

H: high surf in the Gulf (red flag conditions)

I: Instagram -- chronicling our trip in 30+ photos

J: journeys thru the mammoth Hilton trying to find the way to the beach

K: Kentucky

L: laughs in the van and in the hotel rooms

M: Music City (Walk of Fame, Hard Rock Cafe, gift shop at Country Music Hall of Fame)

N: night walk for seashells

O: outlet mall (biggest one and nicest one we'd ever been to)

P: pedestrian bridge walk in Nashville across Cumberland River

Q: quiet times in hotel room (early morning..... first one awake)

R: Ron Jon Surf Shop (our #1 destination on day #1 in Florida)

S: sea lion show at the Gulfarium

T: Tennessee

U: unpacking the van...... then packing it the next morning...... then unpacking......

V: amazing view from our 14th floor balcony

W: weather was pretty much perfect for our time in Florida

X: "ex"-ceptional deals on cool souvenirs

Y: yummy eating at places like Pepitos, Island Wing Company, and Ben & Jerry's

Z: zzzzzzz'ing in the van by tired ladies
