And now the Aussies are getting serious about it:
Australian officials are airdropping poisonous sausages across the country in order to kill millions of feral cats that have taken over the continent.
In 2015, the country’s government announced a plan to kill 2 million feral cats by 2020, according to a recent report from The New York Times.
The recipe for the sausages, as reported by The Times, includes kangaroo meat, chicken fat, herbs, spices and a poison called 1080 that is deadly to the feral cats. The Independent reported it takes 15 minutes for a cat to be killed after eating the contaminated sausage.

Yeesh, this situation sounds absolutely horrible. They gotta do what they gotta do, I guess.
What will they do with the hundreds of thousands of feral cat carcasses littering the Australian continent once the sausages are deployed and consumed?
Will they collect them? Or will they be left to decompose?
And if some other meat-eater eats one of those carcasses, will it be harmed?
