In case you've not heard, the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo will feature 6 events that weren't at the last Olympics:
Baseball / Softball (returning after not being included in 2012 and 2016)
Surfing (debuting)
Sport Climbing (debuting)
Karate (debuting)
Skateboarding (debuting)

Personal opinion....... I consider 4 of those to be "sport" and 2 of those to be "recreational diversion (hobby)".
