Yet More New Words

This is probably the 5th or 6th MattChat post I've made related to "new words".

Some of these may be old words..... just words I've never heard before.  Others may be new new.  At any rate, I always make a point to try to learn a new word here and there once in awhile -- no matter how silly/stupid the word may seem.


SLOWFIE
Apple's name for a slow-motion selfie, a new feature available on the iPhone 11 models

POOP ANXIETY
fear/dread of having to do a #2 in a bathroom outside the comfort of one's own home

OPPORTUNITY HOARDING
the control of resources (defined in any number of ways) that allow certain groups to exclude others from access to said resources or benefits accruing to them

CHEATGRASS
a fast-spreading annual brome grass (Bromus tectorum) native to Europe, introduced to the Western United States in the 1880's and now considered an invasive species

TARDIGRADE
A/K/A "water bears";  near-microscopic animals with long, plump bodies and scrunched-up heads;  prefer to live in sediment at the bottom of a lake or in other wet environments

ICE MISSILE
a chunk of compacted ice-snow flying off a vehicle

REVOLUT
a global money app that includes a debit card (MasterCard), currency exchange, and peer-to-peer payments

HOLACRACY
a system of corporate governance whereby members of a team or business form distinct, autonomous, yet symbiotic, teams to accomplish tasks and company goals   (WHAAAAAT?)
