The Fair Credit Reporting Act is the law that regulations the collection of consumer information and gave consumers the right to view their credit reports every 12 months.
Your credit score is based on the information in your credit report. That’s why it’s so important for consumers to review their reports at least once a year. There are often errors in a report that can cause your score to drop, which can cost you money in higher interest rates or being rejected for a loan.
The three major credit bureaus are now offering free weekly online credit reports from now until April 2021. You can get a free credit report every single week from TransUnion TRU, Equifax, and Experian.
