Those of you who are regular readers of MattChat know that I periodically make a post containing new words/phrases that I've come across.
Here's the latest batch:
WHIPPED COFFEE
originated in South Korea; equal parts coffee, sugar and hot water; mix all of the ingredients in a bowl for around 20 minutes (either by hand or using a hand mixer) until the mixture forms peaks
ORGANIC MATTRESS
made with all-natural materials, which are non-toxic and free from harmful chemicals and synthetic materials
TANNERITE
a brand of binary explosive targets used for firearms practice and sold in kit form
ZOOMBOMBING
a method of trolling in which a deviant utilizes Zoom’s video conferencing App screensharing feature to interrupt an online meeting with the most shocking and disturbing videos they can find
TALL POPPY SYNDROME
a pejorative term primarily used in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and other Anglosphere nations to describe a social phenomenon in which people of genuine merit are resented, attacked, cut down, or criticized because their talents or achievements elevate them above or distinguish them from their peers
SNOWMAN (golf)
a slang term golfers use for a score of eight on any individual hole
VIRTUAL FUNERAL
livestreaming of a funeral service in order to comply with limitations on group sizes due to coronavirus
ZOONOSES
diseases which can be transmitted to humans from animals
